Overcoming Limitations in Business

How to start a business from scratch Season 4

Part 12

*Overcoming limitations in Business*

A private limited company is limited to its members in as far as raising capital and looking for additional resources to expand the business is concerned.

The first thing that limits a business is its legal structure.  How you register your company can limit you.

Way back it was impossible for sole traders register a company but now as a sole trader you can register as a Private Business Corporation(PBC).

Partnerships can also register as PBCs. This; however has limitations in that as an individual you will have to wake up at 0330hrs to go and make some reorders; come back and sale and then plan for the growth of the business.

If you grow your business and then decide to register it as PLC ( public limited company); you can list it in Zimbabwe Stock exchange;  sell ahares to the public and get capital for expansion.

The second limitation in business is lack of management skills.  In soccer there are professional footballers and boozers. All of them will be playing soccer but the rewards they will be getting from playing soccer differs depending on the level of professionalism that they put to their work.

If you are running a business;  do short courses in Inventory management;  finance;  sales and marketing if you do not have time to go to school for a full time course.

Develop yourself.  Lack of knowledge can limit you in business. Embrace ICT in running your business.

Run it as if you are employed.

How to live a debt free life

*How to live a Debt free life*

The bible says "owe no man nothing accept love."  Most corporates and individuals are in debt. Some people get into debts because they do not practice due diligence when they make acquisitions, mergers or making personal choices about borrowing.

The process of registering a company is long and at times people end up opting to buy shelf companies. When buying these companies, one has to be sure that the company he or she is buying is debt free in terms of taxes, rentals and suppliers.

As a start up, in most cases you start by renting a building,  in signing up a lease agreement, you need to check the terms and conditions, make sure that they do not drag you to be part of their legacy debts. Most buildings owe councils and Zesa huge sums of money and  some unscrupulous estate agents tend to pass those debts to people who lease buildings on a rush.

These are preventive measures,  now, let's say that you are already in debt because of failure to pay rentals or you owe several banks and financial institutions. You might be having fashion accounts with shops such as Jet or Edgars, owing tertiary institutions or any school.  Perhaps, you bought a car on credit.

There are many things that can put you in debt. At times it will be justified to borrow and at times it will be unnecessary. You don't need to borrow so as to support leisure activities.

Getting out of debt is not a matter of clearing arrears. Debt is addictive and you need to break it's cycle.

Some people borrow so as to settle other credits. Some are used debt in such a way that if they live for two months without any loan repayment they feel weird. This makes them to go and borrow again.

Debt is one of the greatest causes of poverty. You become a slave to the lender. If you borrow, you pay the money with interest that is why it does not make sense to borrow some money .........read more from our Facebook page.

*STOP FREE-RANCHING YOUR FAMILY & START PARENTING*

*#WakeUp Fathers WakeUp*

15th December 2020

I write this article with high voltage of constructive emotions from what l see taking place in some families. I have been exposed to almost 90% of places in Zimbabwe.

I completed the journey of moving around in all the ten provinces of Zimbabwe this year on the 13 of March 2020.

I have been to urban & rural & rural  rural areas where l witnessed a mamoth task with married  women who are neglected  by men  who  just free-ranch their families.

The context  in this article applies not only to those in Zimbabwe . You  may find it applicable in Lesotho & Eqypt, DRC & Kenya, Togo, Mali, Tunisia, Malawi & Zambia and generally to the entire live persons.

This message is for the the men. Married men. I am not yet allowed by mind to use the word *father* in this introductory stage.

After going through this,  every wife shall define her man in the house as father or just a *hanger* that supports a trousers on display.

It pains me to see men who are not responsible for their familes. They just know how to pregnant only & the rest is left to ladies to take care of.

These men site reasons like things are tight *babe*(zvinhu zvakaoma), but if you ambush them at a local bar or pub, you see then holding very expensive beers & wines whilst the family  is in pauperism. This is not pleasure, but carbonated stupidity.

These men wake up at 9am just to look for food from what the kids have left after leaving the house for school or just to play outside.

These  kind of a men does not learn from other fathers who wake up @3am to run around & come back @10pm.

The biggest business activity they do is betting on expired dogs & horses. They waste time clapping hands for other men making men.

They can wake up & start to debate who is richer than the other: Philllip Chiyangwa & Ginimbi, Twabam & Chivhayo. These are specimen men.

Come evening, they demand all as if they have been productive during the day. It only for those who are productive.

These kind of men treat their kids as parcels. Some times they are sent to rural areas to stay with *amwene*. It is good, but do you think they are going to eat Mountains or wells there? Do not delegate your problems to other people.

There is no holiday for 5 years. Kids are going to schools where only 4  teachers teach  from ECD to Grade seven, no chairs, no black board.

They sit on stones. No live father should afford to free-ranch his family like this.

*Vamwene* is now in  her 80s, but she continues to take care of little  kids as if the parents are longer alive. This is bad!!

 *Manzwa here vana baba?*

Vamwene is now in mega-carats of stress because the father (his son) is failing to buy even Pampas for the kids, some kids do not go to school,if they are, they can't remember the last time this father paid school fees.

This man pray for his kids to be enrolled in *BEAM*. This  man is a  not father. I wish his children could call him our Male.

This man is failing  to parent his kids. He is doing free-ranching.

Kids hardly remember a single moment when they had a talk with the man in the house.

This man wait for the wife to buy food & grocery for the kids in rural areas. (Free- free-ranching)

This man is just a specimen father. He needs help with immediate effect, otherwise societies will fast  degenerate into cemeteries with live men who are dead such that when they shall be publicly declared dead, it will be their memorial service. Tell them to join *Real Men's Forum* today(+263 776566771)  monthly subscriptions.

They went to Nyaradzo or Doves to buy a coffin & organised for their self-funeral alone & buried themselves .

*WakeUpFathers*

Do not free ranch your kids. Be responsible. Graduate into a father.

The most valuable investment

How to start a Business from Scratch Season 4

Part 12

Br Vuma M.D

*The most valuable Investment*

Every man has something that makes his heart to beat fast.  What is it that makes you to get lost when you think about it.

The greatest asset that God has given us are our minds. They say that a human being can hardly use 10% of his brain during his or her lifetime.

Our brains can do so much for us but its just that we limit them. Brain is like a muscle;  it gets better and stronger by exercise.

To be an intellectual giant you need to use your mind more often.  Love knowledge;  be a lifelong learner.

The most valuable investment that you can make is to invest in your brain.

Fund your dream.  What is it that drives you crazy? What is it that makes you to get lost in imagination? What is in your heart?

That which bothers you when other people dont do it well is your calling and its your dream.

Most people are living empty and miserable lives because they are investing in other people's dreams.  They are busy chasing after other people's ideas while they neglect their callings.

You are called by God for a certain mission.  You are a man on a mission;  the sooner you discover your mission and invest on it the better for you.

Most callings dont have rewards at the start and they might seem not to be worthy pursuing but remember that success stories are built by people who built roads from wilderness. Some want ready made roads whilst others build those roads.

Some people go to work so as to get money to buy shooters so that they can pursue their callings of being soccer players.

I know many talented sports people and musicians who abandoned their talents because their talents could not give them food.

Listen; if God gave you a gift; use it; fund it and study on how you can commercialise your talent.

Talent is burdensome if it is not being used. One area that God has called me into is talent identification;  processing and exploration.

Why do the unrighteous prosper?

 *WISDOM FOR LIVING*

PASTOR JOSEPH MAMBALA; (Winners Chapel; Byo)

*Getting Away with Evil*

wealthsmith.blogspot.com

Bible Reading: Psalm 73:1-11

My feet were slipping, and I was almost gone. For I envied the proud when I saw them prosper despite their wickedness.   Psalm 73:2-3

*Short Story to explain this verse*

Not only is Tabitha the sneakiest girl in the sixth grade, she’s also the biggest—a head taller than everyone else in her class. Everyone knows she bullies kids on the playground. But everyone is way too scared to speak up. They know that the last kid who told on her wound up bumped and bruised at the bottom of a staircase.

Talk about it: Take turns filling in the blanks in this sentence: “I, [your name], watch [someone else’s name] get away with [something wrong] all the time, and nothing ever happens.”

Psalm 73 doesn’t say exactly what was bugging Asaph when he wrote this sad song. It’s clear, however, that he and a horde of other people were watching some bad dudes get away with monstrous evil. As Asaph and the rest of the crowds witnessed these events, they uttered some stomach-turning words: “Does God realize what is going on?” They might as well have yelled, “Get a clue, God! Where are you?”

If you’ve ever watched someone get away with evil—and you have—you can guess how Asaph ended up feeling. Right after the verses you read, he asked himself, “Was it for nothing that I kept my heart pure and kept myself from doing wrong? All I get is trouble all day long” (verses 13-14).

Asaph figured he did right—and got squat for his efforts. But that’s when God came to his rescue, doing two vital things:

God helped Asaph understand where evildoers wind up. Evildoers won’t do evil forever. “You put them on a slippery path,” Asaph said, “and send them sliding over the cliff to destruction. In an instant they are destroyed” (verses 18-19).

God pulled Asaph tight. When Asaph recognized God’s awesome power and protection, he said, “You are holding my right hand…. My spirit may grow weak, but God remains the strength of my heart; he is mine forever—-How good it is to be near God! I have made the Sovereign Lord my shelter” (verses 23, 26, 28).

Those are points repeated throughout the Bible. The next time you watch someone get away with what seems like unstoppable evil, try this New Testament promise. “So the Lord knows how to save those who serve him when troubles come. He will hold evil people and punish them, while waiting for the Judgment Day” (2 Peter 2:9, NCV).

TALK: How would you answer someone who says people always get away with their sins?

PRAY: God, help us know how we can stop evil. Help us to know you are with us even when we feel helpless against it.

ACT: Read all of Psalm 73 to get more of God’s great words on this subject!

Unlearning Bad Financial Habits

*Unlearning Your Financial Personality*

Most people go to school to learn what is available and not what is needed.

Im a strong fan of education. I believe in education so much but the truth is that education without production is waste of money and time.

When deciding to go to school you have to ask yourself this question;  what does the economy require from me?

You only become useful when you address an economic need.

Round about late 70s ; Jonathan Moyo was given a scholarship at the University of Southern California and he wanted to study Filmmaking but his funders refused and told him that Africa did not need filmmakers at that particular time; they needed politicians and he was instead made to study Public Administration.

After his studies;  he came back to Africa and became a kingmaker in South Africa;  Kenya and Zimbabwean politics.  He studied what Africa needed at that particular time.

What does our economy needs now? It needs jobs. We are short staffed in terms of entrepreneurs.  We need more entrepreneurs to create jobs.

Go to school.  If you are trained as a doctor turn your medicine degree into  a medical business.  If you are trained as a teacher turn your Bachelor of Education to be an academic college. Do not abandon your qualification but use it on the entrepreneurship side. People should not seek medical tourism from India and China when we have you. You need to create homegrown solutions.  We are tired of importing food from Zambia and South Africa when we have unemployed agricultural graduates.

*Transform your qualification into a business*

Someone might tell me that he or she is hearing me but the problem is that he does not have capital to start a business.

The bible says that God gives a seed to the sower and bread to the eater. When you receive your salary you have to know that it is not bread but it is a seed.

It is the seed that should be planted so that it can multiply and take you out of poverty.

Dr Abib Olamatoye; the owner of the largest private hospital in Nigeria built his group of hospitals from scratch without borrowing.  He built his business through savings.

The reason why most of us are going to remain poor is because of our spending patterns. The bible says "Train a child in the way he should go and when he grows up; he will not depart from it."

When we were growing up we were trained to spend and not to save. Neither were we trained to invest. We were given money and told to buy sweets. No wonder why many adults today even if you increase their pay; their poverty will never end. They find a way to spend all they get.

If you give them more money;  they increase the number of girlfriends to their fleet.

We were beaten up if we did not finish our food when eating.  We were trained to finish off everything we were giving and that mentality is destroying us today as adults.

We need to unlearn all these negative spending habits that we learnt at childhood.

STARTING TO FINISH, NOT STARTING TO ABORT

 *Be a Finisher*

Author unknown.

Many people are excellent starters but poor finishers. Having a portfolio full of unfinished projects, incomplete initiatives and unaccomplished goals will give you a false sense of accomplishment but will not make you successful.

*151*1*1*0782155927*7# to purchase our monthly magazine. * The Wealthsmith corporate magazine*

Half-read books will leave you half wise. Yes, bad ideas are not worth finishing, but many of us have boatloads of unfinished world-changing projects that have been relegated to the purgatory of incompletion.

Many life-changing ideas are sacrificed on the altar of the unfinished. Develop the habit of finishing every project that you initiate. Life rewards finishers. History remembers finishers. Honor is reserved for finishers. Respect is commanded by finishers.

Wealth is attracted to finishers. Promotion is awarded to finishers. And, The Kingdom of God is reserved only for finishers. "But the one who endures to the end will be saved." (Matt 24:13) Therefore, master the art of finishing. Before you start another new project, search through the archives of your unfinished projects, get something restarted and actually finish it.

“Better is the end of a thing than its beginning...” (Ecclesiastes 7:8) Be a finisher!
